Greetings and Happy New Year Twin Cities ASA Chapter!

I just wanted to send a quick reminder that your local ASA chapter will be having its third annual happy hour, Monday, January 11th at Majors Sports Café in Golden Valley.  These events have been well-attended in the past because they are a great opportunity to meet and socialize with your fellow ASA members.

The happy hour will commence at 5:00 PM with no specified end time. There will be a cash bar with the chapter sponsoring appetizers.

No need to RSVP.  We hope to see you there!

The address is:

Our next meeting is Thursday, December 17th at noon.  It is a joint meeting with the local chapter of IBA featuring the annual valuation contest.  Our guest presenter will be Ingo Schulz of Prestwick Partners, who will give an overview of an actual transaction.  Based on the presentation, meeting attendees will submit their guess as to the sales price.  There are prizes for those submissions closest to the actual sales price.

Please Note the location of this meeting:

You must pre-register for this meeting.  To RSVP, please email Dennie O’Leary (odennie@hotmail.com).  Please also note whether you would like Chef Salad or Lasagna.

One final note: due to the alternate location, there will be no option for remote attendance

Dear Twin Cities ASA Chapter,

It is with sadness that I inform you that Doug Kurszewski passed away on Tuesday.  Doug was a former president of the Twin Cities ASA Chapter serving in 1996-1997.  He passed away peacefully in his home after complications from a stroke suffered in 2006.  Visitation is scheduled for 1:00 to 3:00 (12/11) at Plymouth Covenant Church in Plymouth, MN with funeral services to follow.  Please see the obituary for additional information.

The chapter is sending flowers and making a donation to Toys for Tots in Doug’s memory.

LinkedIn

All chapter members received an invitation to join the chapter’s newly-created LinkedIn group, which is called Twin Cities Chapter, American Society of Appraisers #53. By joining and using the group, members will be able to stay connected, discuss valuation topics, and learn about upcoming events. If you no longer have the invitation email, you can search for the group within the Linked In website or request another invitation from Renee Marino, Renee.Marino@GT.com

Strategic Planning
The local chapter is embarking on a strategic planning initiative to identify and pursue opportunities to

planning process, please contact any of the chapter officers.

Another element of the strategic planning includes the use of social networking media to stay
